Recently the tuning car industry has suffered a great loss with the passing of one of it's greats. Hideki Tanabe of Powerhouse Amuse fame. I remember the first time I saw the Powerhouse Amuse Touge Monster S2000 on Best Motoring and I fell in love. It was around that time that I really started to shape my idea of what a well tuned car should be. Balance balance balance! Tanabe Sans tuning car philosophy was unique and admired by millions of people world wide. His success on the touge and on the circuit inspired tuners the all over the world. He will be sadly missed by all. I never had the privilege of meeting him or visiting his shop but the cars he's built over the years will always be fresh in my mind and I'm sure I will never get sick of dragging out the old Best Motoring videos and watching the S2000 rip up the Gunsai Touge. POWERPLAY IMPORTS WAKEFIELD PARK TRACK DAY.
Everyone had an awesome day out at the Powerplay Imports Wakefield Park track day that was recently held in July 08. The weather was absolutely perfect, with not a cloud in the sky and beautiful cold air for all of the turbocharged cars. A big thank you goes out to Wakefield Park for the super smooth newly re surfaced track, and to Jo Anne, Alistair and Rob from Powerplay Imports www.powerplayimports.com.au for putting on such a well organised fun event, not to mention a trouble free day with plenty of track time for everyone and a great lunch too. It was a dream come true for me, to see the Bathurst winning R32 Skyline GTR of Mark Skaife and Jim Richards, the Group A R31 Skyline also of Mark Skaife, the Nismo Z-Tune R34 GTR and the amazing, one of only a hand full in the country, R35 GTR owned by Haltech. Please enjoy some of the pictures taken on the day. PS: My car is the white 180SX. I posted a best time of 1min 11.7sec. The car ran like a dream all day with our new Version9 coilovers!
